Historic Tottenville, "a lovely little town on the south shore." is the southern-most village in New York State and the last stop on the Staten Island Railway.  The oldest house in the village, circa 1795, is on Main Street.

Shown here, the modern is embraced in a dramatically contemporary home just around  the corner from an exquisitely maintained historic home.  Both are a short walk from the Station.  As happens so often along the Railway, you can hardly believe you are in New York City.

John Totten, Jr. was the most prominent resident of Main Street,.  He built #62, circa 1795, and also #72 and #76 Main Street.
